DPS sound processing is powered by a system of Profiles . Each profile contains information DPS uses to optimize the audio for a particular audio device or situation. Some DPS profiles are designed to work on a wide range of devices. We call these profiles Cities or Tools. Others are designed for a single device or custom purpose and are named for the device they are designed for. Custom profiles are available in the Full Featured version of the Bongiovi DPS software.

1. The system features a 100-Watt, four-channel amplifier and digital signal processing system that’s been tuned by Bongiovi Acoustics to outperform similar DSP-based auto-equalizers found in Bose and JBL products. IP1 analyzes the music that’s about to play through the amplifier and speakers, and makes dynamic adjustments to maximize the quality of the sound, and minimize distortion from the speakers.
2. Connect your device to a charger that you know functions properly to see if the problem is with your device’s charging port instead of the iHome iP1. Faulty iHome Dock If your device is connected correctly, and its charging port is functioning correctly, the problem may be with your iHome’s dock.

So what is the magic behind the Bongiovi DPS audio processing? Without getting too complicated, DPS is constantly adapting the incoming audio signal to match the capabilities of your audio system. It is doing this using a patented process that “listens” to the sound the way we do. It is reacting to the audio the same way our mind reacts and it keeps sounds that are most important to us at a very consistent volume level. It does this in a transparent and musical way. Keeping important sounds at a consistent level allows all sounds to stay “above the noise” of our everyday lives so we can appreciate the nuance and emotion intended by the original creator of that content. To experience this on your computer, DPS captures audio from its source, processes it, then plays it from your choice of outputs.

The Source App may be your media player, a game or your Internet browser streaming music or video.

• Audio created by the Source App is captured by the DPS Virtual Audio Driver because it is automatically set as the Default Playback Device in your Sound Control Panel.
• The DPS driver passes the audio to the Bongiovi DPS App.
• The Bongiovi DPS App processes the audio according to the profile and other effects you have selected.
• The Bongiovi DPS app sends the audio out to the Output Device you chose in the SETTINGS tab.

NOTE: The system works essentially the same in Windows and OSX. However, the Digital Power Station device driver is called DPSReflector in OSX.
